XMUM IChemE Student Chapter Organizes its First Learning Camp
A 3-day learning camp has been successfully organized by XMUM IChemE Student Chapter from 17 to 19 September 2019, right before the start of the new semester. A total of 60 undergraduate students participated in the event.
XMUM IChemE Student Chapter is the XMUM branch of the Institution of Chemcial Enginnners (IChemE), a multi-national professional engineering body based in UK.
To improve students’ teamwork ability and communication skills, students were asked to form their own teams in the first day of the event.

Dr. Viknesh Adiappan Murugappan from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia and Dr. Chung Fei Fang from XMUM New Energy Science and Engineering Programme delivered motivational research talks on the second day. This was followed by cash flow games aiming at improving students’ creativity, knowledge and presentation skills.
In the last day, students had a chance to experience plant design competition, which is essential in the field of chemical engineering. Cash prizes were given to the Overall Winner, Best Model and Best Presentation.
XMUM IChemE Student Chapter was officially established in March 2018, under the witness of Prof. Ir. Dominic Foo CY, a world leading researcher in process integration for resource conservation, and Ms. Theresa Lok, Membership Merketing Exceutive of IChemE in Malaysia.
