Master in NESE Viva Voce Announcement: Congratulations to Mr Johnson Yang (MEG2310006)
Dear NESE-SECE,
The School is pleased to announce that Mr Johnson Yang (MEG2310006) from Master in New Energy Science and Engineering has passed his viva voce with Minor Correction held on 3rd April 2026.
Johnson defended his Master dissertation "Modulating the Interfacial Characteristics of Zinc Anode with Macroscopic Zincophilic Copper Interlayer for High Performance Aqueous Zinc-Ion Batteries" or "利用宏观亲锌和铜中间层调控锌负极界面特性以提升水系锌离子电池性能" under the duo-supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr Chong Woon Gie & Prof Dr Huang Nay Ming. His work has been published in SCI-indexed journals, eg: Journal of Energy Storage (IF: 9.8) & Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering (IF: 7.2)
In this viva, the Internal Examiner was Asst. Prof. Dr. Havid Aqoma Khoiruddin and the External Examiners were Assoc. Prof. Dr Woo Haw Jiunn (University of Malaya) & ChM. Dr. Ng Chi Huey (University Malaysia Sabah). The Chair was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gan Wee Chen and the secretary was Ms. Crystal Lee Ka Yin.
