Master in NESE Viva Voce Announcement: Congratulations to Mr Brian Tan Xin Quan (MEG2211001)
The School is pleased to announce that Mr Brian Tan Xin Quan ((MEG2211001) from Master in New Energy Science and Engineering has passed his viva voce with Distinction held on 6th Feb 2026.
Brian defended his Master dissertation "Heterojunction Engineering: Evolving 2D Photocatalyst Design from Single Half-Reaction to Utilization of Electron-Hole Pairs in Photoredox Hydrogen Evolution and Benzyl Alcohol Oxidation" or "异质结工程：2D光催化剂设计从单一半反应到光氧化还原偶联析氢与苯甲醇氧化中电子-空穴对的高效利用" under the supervision of Prof. Dr Ong Wee Jun. His work has been published and co-authored in several high impact SCI-indexed journals:
In this viva, the Internal Examiner was Asst. Prof. Dr. Lam Weng Hoong and the External Examiners were Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr Lai Chin Wei & Dr Zeng Xiangkang (The University of Queensland, Australia). The Chair was Prof. Dr. Tan Swee Tiam and the secretary was Ms. Najah Aliah.
