About Me

Dr. Mikhail (Mick) Pylnev is an Assistant Professor at the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). He received the MOST PhD Scholarship (2015- 2019) and NSTC Postdoctoral Fellowship (2019- 2020) in Taiwan. He established the UAE’s first independent perovskite solar cell (PSC) facility, achieving 20% efficiency in 2022. From 2023 to 2026, he worked as a Specially-Appointed Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Chemistry, Osaka University, Japan. He has authored multiple journal articles and holds three patents. His goal is to expand solar-energy access in developing countries to combat global warming.
